I use the sidebar very frequently to access notes and personal files, which are now hidden in My Files. I already stash things in folders there and would rather be able to see all my personal files in one place rather than mixed up in the Favorites Section.
Side note, being able to favorite multiple files from the folder view would help make sure I can find the right files.

Would it work for you if you moved all your “My Files” content into one folder that you could favourite - so it replicates a similar experience in the sidebar and one you can collapse so your other favourite files are also clearly visible?
